About this ebook

The way autoimmune disease is viewed and treated is undergoing a major change as an estimated 50 million Americans (and growing) suffer from these conditions. For many patients, the key to true wellness is in holistic treatment, although they might not know how to begin their journey to total recovery.

The Autoimmune Wellness Handbook, from Mickey Trescott and Angie Alt of Autoimmune-Paleo.com, is a comprehensive guide to living healthfully with autoimmune disease. While conventional medicine is limited to medication or even surgical fixes, Trescott and Alt introduce a complementary solution that focuses on seven key steps to recovery: inform, collaborate, nourish, rest, breathe, move, and connect.

Each step demystifies the process to reclaim total mind and body health. With five autoimmune conditions between them, Trescott and Alt have achieved astounding results using the premises laid out in the book. The Autoimmune Wellness Handbook goes well beyond nutrition and provides the missing link so that you can get back to living a vibrant, healthy life.

I preordered my Autoimmune Wellness handbook a less than month ago and it arrived promptly this week. I am a 65-year-old woman who has autoimmune Hashimoto’s, depleted adrenals, chronic fatigue and chronic bacterial skin infections. I have been following the AIP (Autoimmune Protocal for healing) path for almost one year. When I began my healing journey I jumped into AIP at 100 percent. I put my head down, cleared out my cupboards and proceeded to get the job done. I knew no other way. Now that I have read The Autoimmune Wellness Handbook I realize there is another way and I definitely wish that this book had been available for me then. This book describes a “be kind to yourself approach for change and healing. The recommended path this book prescribes is one of loving compassion. Its tone is restful, calming compassionate and understanding as its two authors are walking the talk themselves. It is helping me to learn a new skill set and I have come to see that my former “pick yourself up by your bootstraps” approach was not always in my best interest for my healing This new soulful and mindful approach is perfect for me as I learn to be kinder to my body and kinder to my soul. Its tone is restful, calming compassionate and understanding as its two authors are walking the talk themselves. This book is loving, mindful, gentle and healing in tone and filled with concrete ideas and recipes to try. I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone with an autoimmune condition.
