Thrawn: Treason (Star Wars)

It has been a while since I have posted a review. This book is something I have waited a long time to read, not for selfish reasons but because sometimes I don't want a good thing to end. However with things ramping up for The Rise of Skywalker I knew it was the perfect time to finish this trilogy. The intrigue that has been built up around the Unknown Regions and Palpatine's quest for knowledge about the area it made perfect sense to add as much knowledge about it as I could and thankfully this novel answered some of the lingering questions I have had since I broke the story that Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012. Zahn has kept me enraptured in the tales of Thrawn, but adding some layered history to the Chiss has been riveting. Second Sight, third sight, the brief mention of the attendants training the Chiss navigators, so much fun and intrigue. I am left hoping that we see you Ezra Bridger using the Force to navigate Thrawn and the Chimera through the Unknown Regions soon

Best in the new Thrawn series (so far). Zahn delivers everything in this book. it holds the intrigue and cat & mouse game style of this first book of this series while simultaneously hitting with hard action that ties in incredibly well to the larger Star Wars universe with cameos of favorites such as Tarkin to plot points that largely tie into Rogue One and the Rebels series.

Another outstanding entry from Zahn, I've been looking forward to this book's release since the last one and I was not disappointed. This book will suck you in and not let you out as each and every encounter holds exquisite detail, and even having kbowledge of both of Thrawn's series I still was amazed by the spectacle of the story's planning, much like Thrawn's. 10/10, will read again.
